About

Hi, I’m Chris! My purpose with Blog A Living is to talk about how to create your own content websites for profit, and turn it into a full-time living. We talk about SEO, WordPress, content writing, promotion, social media and more.

The Origin Story

Blog A Living started out in 2004 (under a different domain name) as a smattering of notes I kept while I was teaching myself how to manage, run and promote websites. It contained a lot of rants, a lot of questions, and lots of useless tidbits, most of which I think I’ve deleted now.

I started out with about $20 to spend and had to learn everything for myself. It wasn’t easy, and it took a long time. But ten years later, I quit my day job and start blogging full time for a living.

It was the most rewarding and freeing decision I’d ever made. I don’t claim to be any kind of guru or have all the answers, but I do know how to make a full-time living from websites, and I’m continually honing my skills.

What you can expect from this site is straight talk. Unless you get lucky, it takes some hard work and time to become a professional blogger. But you can do it.

This website talks about SEO, social media, internet advertising, affiliate marketing, dealing with website themes and plugins, and using WordPress to keep it all going.

Blog A Living is a resource site for those who want to learn professional blogging. It will focus on information, lessons learned and tutorials. You can subscribe via Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest to be sure you never miss an article!
